Briggs Air Systems is a Division of Briggs Technologies, Ltd.  Established in 1976 as Briggs Corporation, the company incorporated in 1997 as Briggs Technologies, Ltd. after purchasing Broadway Brunson and Gates, Incorporated. The company does business as Briggs Air Systems, Broadway Brunson and Gates, and Geothermal of South Carolina.       

                           

The company has always been committed to exploring, researching, and implementing the latest state-of-the-art technology in the HVAC industry. This company led the way in Solar heating systems in the 1970’s designing and installing several successful hybrid systems – some coupled with geothermal systems. The company has also led the way in geothermal technology having researched, designed and installed all methods of earth coupled heat transfer over the last 34 years.

Gene has been in the Air-Conditioning Industry since 1960. Employed with: 1) Climatic Corporation (the Carrier A/C’s distributor for South Carolina) as a Sales Engineer involved in sales and design engineering of HVAC systems for industrial, commercial, and some residential applications. 2) Sifco Industries as manager of the Mechanical Contracting Division. 3) He has over fifty years actual hands on experience in the engineering, installation, sales, and service of all types of HVAC systems and equipment. Gene holds many certifications in all phases of the industry. Gene has been involved with the design and installation of geothermal heat pump systems since 1976. He is one of only a few installing geothermal contractors in South Carolina to be internationally certified by the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) associated with the Oklahoma State University.  Gene has held the office of President of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE). Educated at The Citadel in Electrical Engineering (Class of ’60). Past President of the Sumter Citadel Club.
